I had severe pain for a long time from a crowned tooth. Several dentists said it had to be extracted. Here they focused on saving my tooth first and did, with a successful treatment. As someone with a fear of dentists, I can say the touch is really gentle. Every step was explained, which made me feel safe. The clinic is spotless; you can rest assured about hygiene. The entire team is friendly, attentive and helpful. Everything was flawless from beginning to end.
Dental Treatment in Turkey from Ireland
The complete guide for Irish patients: what it really costs compared with Dublin, how to get there, how to stay safe, what the warranty means and how DentalTrip plans the whole trip before you leave home.
Irish patients can save 50–75% on dental implants, veneers and crowns in Turkey, even after flights and hotel. With DentalTrip, a Dublin-facing dental travel agency founded in 2011, your treatment plan is reviewed by Dr. Metehan Doğan before you fly, treatment takes place at Ministry of Health authorised partner clinics in Antalya or Istanbul, you receive a written lifetime warranty, and you can claim 20% tax relief on the dental fees through Revenue's Med 2 form.
Why so many Irish patients go to Turkey for dental work
Ireland has excellent dentists and some of the highest private dental fees in Europe. A single implant with crown in Dublin typically costs €2,500–€4,000; a full-arch All-on-4 runs €12,000–€25,000 per jaw. For patients who need several teeth, the maths is unavoidable: the same treatment, with the same premium materials, costs a quarter to a half in Turkey, including the flight and a week by the Mediterranean.
The Irish Dental Association has warned about patients returning with problems from abroad, and those warnings are fair. Over-treatment, teeth bonded together, no aftercare and nobody to call. That is precisely the gap DentalTrip fills: an agency that is accountable to you, not to the clinic, with a Chief Dentist who would rather do less than more.
What it really costs, including travel
Below are indicative 2026 figures. Add a return flight from Dublin (€150–€450) and a 4-star hotel (€60–€160 a night), and subtract the 20% Med 2 tax relief on the dental fees. For a single tooth the saving is modest; for three or more implants or any full-arch or smile makeover case, Irish patients typically save €8,000–€15,000.
| Treatment | Turkey with DentalTrip | Typical in Ireland |
|---|---|---|
| Single dental implant (implant + abutment + crown) | from €650 | €2,500 – €4,000 |
| All-on-4 per arch (fixed zirconia bridge) | from €4,900 | €12,000 – €25,000 |
| All-on-6 per arch (fixed zirconia bridge) | from €5,900 | €15,000 – €25,000 |
| Implant-retained overdenture (2 implants + denture) | from €1,900 | €3,800 – €6,500 |
| E-max veneer (per tooth) | from €290 | €900 – €1,400 |
| Porcelain veneer (per tooth) | from €260 | €900 – €1,500 |
| Zirconia crown (per tooth) | from €220 | €800 – €1,200 |
| Composite veneer / bonding (per tooth) | from €120 | €250 – €450 |

Getting there: direct flights from Dublin
Antalya is 4 hours 55 minutes from Dublin on SunExpress's direct service, operating up to five times a week from late March to late October. Istanbul is 4 hours 25 minutes on Turkish Airlines, daily and year-round. In winter you reach Antalya via Istanbul in about 7.5 hours door to door. Irish passport holders do not need a visa for stays under 90 days. The time difference is two hours, the plug sockets are the European two-pin type, and the currency is the Turkish lira, though euro cards work everywhere.

Dublin → Istanbul direct with Turkish Airlines, 4h 25m, daily, year-roundIs dental treatment in Turkey safe?
It is as safe as the clinic you choose and the plan you agree to. Turkey regulates international patient care under the 2025 Regulation on International Health Tourism: clinics must hold a Ministry of Health authorisation certificate and agencies must be authorised intermediaries. DentalTrip and our partner clinics meet both requirements, and we will show you the certificates before you book. Beyond paperwork, the safeguards that matter are conservative planning, individual teeth rather than bonded bridges, premium traceable materials and a dentist who answers the phone after you go home.
Aftercare in Ireland and the lifetime warranty
You fly home with a treatment passport: X-rays, implant brand and batch numbers, materials, shade and a written warranty certificate. Any dentist in Ireland can read it. Routine check-ups and hygiene visits continue with your own dentist; anything covered by the warranty is handled by us, including travel assistance where a return visit is needed. Our WhatsApp line stays open for life, in Irish hours.
Med 2 tax relief on treatment abroad
Revenue allows Irish taxpayers to claim 20% relief on non-routine dental treatment, including crowns, veneers, implants and bridges, and the treatment does not have to take place in Ireland. We complete the Med 2 form for you at the end of your trip. Flights and hotels are not claimable, but on a €10,000 full-arch case the relief is worth €2,000.

Rated 5.0 on Google by 189 patients
I had everything done from start to finish: fillings, extractions, veneers, cleaning and smile design. My whole mouth was planned step by step and carried out with understanding and a smile. I can now smile wholeheartedly, both because of the very natural look and because we completed the process without any difficulty. I will recommend this clinic to everyone.
I would like to thank the whole team for their smiling faces, loving attitude, care and understanding. I am very pleased with the clinic's clean, hygienic and organised environment, with the meticulous and skilled hands that treated my teeth, and with my new dental veneers. Thank you again.

Do you really plan everything from Ireland?
Yes. Your free consultation, digital smile design, written quote, flights, hotel and transfers are all arranged before you leave Ireland. We work in Irish hours on WhatsApp, phone and video, and can meet you in Dublin by appointment.
How long do I need to stay in Turkey?
Veneers, crowns and smile makeovers take one visit of 5–7 days. Implants take two visits: 3–5 days for placement and 5–7 days for the final teeth, three to four months apart. All-on-4 and All-on-6 follow the same two-visit pattern with fixed temporary teeth in between.
Are there direct flights from Dublin?
Yes. SunExpress flies direct Dublin–Antalya in 4h 55m (up to five times a week, late March to late October). Turkish Airlines flies direct Dublin–Istanbul in 4h 25m daily, year-round.
Do I need a visa for Turkey?
Irish passport holders do not need a visa for tourist stays of up to 90 days. Your passport should be valid for at least 150 days from arrival.
Can someone travel with me?
Of course. Companions are welcome at the clinic and the hotel, and transfers are for you both. Many patients make it a couple's or family holiday.
Where will I stay?
In a 4- or 5-star hotel within 15 minutes of the clinic, chosen with you. In Antalya most patients stay in Lara or Konyaaltı; in Istanbul in Şişli, Nişantaşı or Taksim.
Is it safe to get dental treatment in Turkey from Ireland?
Yes, when the clinic is authorised by the Turkish Ministry of Health, the dentist is experienced and you are not over-treated. DentalTrip exists to guarantee all three: we have planned treatment for 1,000+ patients since 2011 with 100% satisfaction, every plan is reviewed by Dr. Metehan Doğan, and all ceramic and implant work carries a written lifetime warranty.
Will my dentist in Ireland look after my teeth afterwards?
Yes. We give every patient a treatment passport listing each tooth, material, implant brand and cement used, plus X-rays and scans, so any Irish dentist can maintain your work. We also stay available on WhatsApp for life.
